Scope Of Work The Baner Stream (Khad) carries high sediment loads during the monsoon season, and during floods. The total sediment load is estimated to be between one and two million tons per year.

Project Detail


5 MW, Run-of-River, commissioned 2015 Annual production of around 32 GWh, Net head is 44 m and discharge is 14.2 m3/s.  The desilting basin is 17,5 m wide and 60 m long. 2 Francis turbines with a capacity of 2500 kW each.

Solution: SediCon re-designed the desanders and supplied two SediCon Sluicers with a combined capacity of 940 ton sediments per hour. The SediCon Sluicers discharges into the river downstream of the intake, via two manual operated gate blade valves.

Implementation: The contract was signed early 2015 and SediCon supplied the SediCon Sluicers by the end of 2015.

Results: The SediCon Sluicer have a capacity of 400 ton of sand per hour, making the total capacity 800 ton per hour. The SediCon Sluicers can remove particles up to 80 mm.
